Krista, Operations Manager
Krista has been working in the dental field for over two years and counting. She attended SMSU for her education, completing her Bachelor’s in Business and Finance. Originally from Stewartville, she has two children at home, as well as a fur baby named Turk. Her hobbies outside of work include hiking, knee-boarding, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.
Elese, Office Manager
Elese is originally from the town of Sleepy Eye. She studied at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and has also completed training through Spear. Today, she has been working in the oral healthcare field for nearly a decade! Her favorite part of this job is developing such strong relationships with the patients and spending quality time with her wonderful co-office manager.
At home, Elese and her husband Michael have a special “fur child” – a dog named Frank. Her hobbies include weight lifting, traveling, going to breweries, and spending lots of quality time with family and friends. She’s actually part Filipino, but it’s hard to tell because of her skin tone!
Mary, Front Desk
Mary is a Rochester native and has been working in dentistry for almost 20 years now. She pursued her education at Rochester Community and Technical College and through Vocational School in Rochester. She’s also attended courses in conflict mediation. She loves getting to meet with so many wonderful patients here at Gentling Dental!
Mary has two children, four grandchildren, and six siblings. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, drinking Caribou coffee, going on long walks, and spending lots of time with her family. She’s very proud of the fact that she got to see Elvis in concert when she was younger too.
Kristie, Dental Assistant
Kristie’s career in dentistry covers over 15 years so far. In addition to completing her education at Rochester Community and Technical College, she has also attended the Dawson Dental Assistant and Spear Dental Assistant Courses. Today, she loves interacting so closely with patients and getting to know them very well over time, as well as hanging out with such a great group of coworkers!
Originally from here in Rochester, Kristie and her husband Keith have two sons named Keyan and Tayte and a Pug named Khloe. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and being with family.
Melissa, Dental Assistant
Melissa has been working in the dental field for nearly two decades so far. She attended both Concordia University and Rochester Community and Technical College for her oral healthcare education. She’s also attended advanced training courses through Spear and the Pankey Institute. Her favorite part of this job is an easy answer – the patients!
Originally from Alden, Melissa is married, has a son, a daughter, and two grandchildren. When she isn’t busy at work, she enjoys going to breweries, practicing CrossFit, and being a proud grandma.
Sue, Dental Assistant
Sue’s career in the oral healthcare field spans nearly 40 years so far! Originally from Austin, MN, she studied at Rochester Vocational Technical School. What she enjoys most about her job is being able to touch a patient’s life in positive ways, not only giving them new reasons to smile but actually enhancing the quality of their life as well through dentistry.
Sue is married and has two grown children, as well as two wonderful granddaughters. When she isn’t busy at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, playing with her two cats Jimmy and Eddie, canoeing, and hunting for vintage fishing lures. She also loves Monarch butterflies and released 96 of them last year!
Tara, Dental Hygienist
A Rochester native, Tara has been working in dentistry for well over two decades now. She attended both Rochester Community College and Mankato State University for her education. She loves working at Gentling Dental and being part of such an amazing team!
Tara and her husband Brent have four boys named Seth, Dylan, Tyler, and Blake. When she isn’t busy at the dental office, she spends her free time with her family, gardening, reading, cooking, and taking care of her chickens.
Teresa, Dental Hygienist
Teresa attended Rochester Community and Technical College before completing her education at the University of Minnesota. She also has training in CPR, local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide. Today, her career in the dental world impressively spans almost 50 years, with almost all of them spent as a hygienist. She is so proud to work with patients and team members that she genuinely loves every day.
Outside of Gentling Dental, Teresa has been married for over 40 years and has three children, five grandsons, and four granddaughters. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks, growing flowers in her garden, traveling, and babysitting all the grandchildren. Originally from Rochester, she actually grew up on a hobby farm and used to ride and show Arabian horses!
Grace, Dental Hygienist
Grace is originally from Sartell and has attended the University of Minnesota Duluth, Argosy University – Twin Cities, and Metropolitan State University. She graduated in May of 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene! She loves the great people she works with here at Gentling Dental, as well as talking with all of the fabulous patients.
At home, Grace is married with no children just yet. She spends her free time working out, going on walks, crocheting, spending lots of time up at the lake, and playing with her sweet nieces and nephews. She can do the worm!
Karen, Dental Hygienist
Karen has been a member of the Gentling Dental family for nearly 40 years now! For her education, she attended both the University of Wisconsin and Mankato State University. She’s also taken years of dedicated continuing education courses in order to keep current with new techniques and procedures. Today, her favorite part of this position is being able to connect with patients so closely as she guides them towards excellent dental health.
Originally from Appleton, WI, Karen has been married to her husband Rick for over 30 years. They have one daughter named Nicole and a very large extended family. When she isn’t busy at work, she enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling. Being around water is definitely her Zen, whether it’s the Minnesota lakes or the ocean.
Sam, Dental Hygienist
Originally from Zumbrota, Sam has been working in oral healthcare for well over five years now. She studied at RCTC and loves building strong relationships with both her patients and her coworkers over time. She’s proud to be a member of the Gentling Dental family!
Sam loves her family, which includes her husband Mike, her sons Brody and Briggs, and their dog Scarlet, who is a Morkie. Whenever she isn’t busy at the dental office, she spends her free time gardening, hiking, going to the gym, snowboarding, and (of course) hanging out with her loved ones. She also has a passion for cooking and trying new recipes – in fact, she’s been told that she makes the world’s best prime rib.
Kim, Administrative Assistant
Kim’s experience in healthcare spans nearly 10 years so far, and while she may be new to our practice, she already loves how nice everyone is here! She studied at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and was a Malcolm Baldrige 2012 Examiner; she’s also worked as a Mock Trial Teacher Coach for the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Originally from Rochester, Kim has been married for over 20 years and has three children – two girls and a boy. When she isn’t busy helping patients, her favorite hobbies include restoring/refurbishing furniture and spending lots of time in her flower garden. When she retires, her dream is to work part-time in a flower shop!
